Waterman CFPD responds to 14 fires in 2017

Waterman Central Fire Protection District responded to 20 calls in 2017 - 53.8 percent more than the previous year, according to data from the National Fire Incident Reporting System.

The calls in Waterman included 14 fires - eight structure fires, two vehicle fires and four other fires.

In all, the department saw $13,150 in fire loss - or about $939 per fire.

The department also received six false calls.

The Waterman Central Fire Protection District had an annual budget of $132,116 in 2017.
