Rep. Jeff Keicher (R-Sycamore) recently took to social media to discuss the importance of manufacturing for Illinois and welcome an endorsement from the Committee of Automotive Retailers (CAR) of Illinois, noting the auto industry’s role in boosting the state’s economy.
“A subset of our area's strong manufacturing history is auto manufacturing, sales and innovation,” Keicher wrote on Facebook. “The extent to which innovations have been developed in Illinois in automobiles technology is something our state can be proud of.”
Keicher, who was appointed to retired Rep. Robert W. Pritchard's seat earlier this year, praised the positive impact of the auto sector, from manufacturing to sales, has on employment.
“As the years have gone by the technology and innovation in car technology is amazing,” he said. “I'm excited to see where the next wave of innovation will lead.”
Keicher also thanked Illinois credit unions for backing his candidacy. He said he has been a credit union member for two decades.
“Credit unions are financial organizations owned and operated by their members working together to served their communities,” he said. “Our missions are similar, we seek to make a difference every day through service and leadership in our communities.”
Keicher faces Democrat Paul Stoddard and Libertarian John Eldon Mathey on Nov. 6.
