Anderson Funeral Home, Ltd. issued the following announcement on.

Lawrence M. ‘Larry’ Ball, 77, of DeKalb, Illinois, died Thursday, January 10, 2019, at Kishwaukee Hospital.

He was born February 8, 1941, in DeKalb, the son of Robert and Dorothy (Malone) Ball. Larry married Linda K. Fuller on September 21, 1963, at St. Mary Catholic Church in DeKalb.

Larry was employed as a store manager in the shoe department for Malone’s Department Store for 25 years. He later worked for the Daily Chronicle and for TransVAC as a driver for 18 years until his retirement. Larry was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in DeKalb, St. Mary Choir for over 50 years, Kish-Wau-Keys Barbershop Chorus for over 50 years and the Stage Coach Players. He tried his hand at movies, enjoyed camping with his family, and was a great family man.

He is survived by his wife, Linda; his children, Tom (Andrea) Ball, Tim (Tammy) Ball, Todd (Hisato) Ball, Tad Ball and Tyler (Jennifer) Ball; nine grandchildren, Mark (Laura), Monika, Elizabeth, Tiffany (Sean), Jenee, Tobi, Trinity, Keaton and Julia; two great-granddaughters, Brylee and Ava; sister, Roberta (Richard) Wiseman; brothers, William (Rose) Ball and James (Barbara) Ball; sister-in-law, Joan Ball; several nieces and nephews; and many family pets.

He was preceded in death by his parents; infant son, Tobin, brother, Gerry; and cousin, Carole.

The Memorial Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, January 14, 2019, at St. Mary Catholic Church, 321 Pine Street, DeKalb, with Fr. Carl Beekman from The Church of St. Mary in Sycamore officiating. Interment of cremated remains will follow service.

Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Sunday, January 13, 2019, at Anderson Funeral Home in DeKalb.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Lawrence M. Ball Memorial Fund, addressed to the Ball Family in care of Anderson Funeral Home, P.O. Box 605, 2011 South Fourth Street, DeKalb, IL 60115.
