City of Sandwich Committee-of-the-Whole Council met January 21.

Mayor Olson called the Committee-of-the-Whole Council Meeting to order at 7:00 PM.
Roll call was taken:
Present: Mayor Olson, City Clerk Ii, Aldermen Chmielewski, Dell, Kelleher, Killey, McMahon & Surratt Alderman Robinson arrived at 7:02 PM
Also present: Attorney Buick, Department of Public Works / City Engineer Horak, City Treasurer Webber & Chief Bianchi
Absent: Alderman Redden & EMA Director Ciciora
Mayor Olson shared his vision to make Sandwich a tourism destination. At a recent Tourism Committee meeting, several upcoming events were shared such as the Lion’s Club Cruise Nights and Freedom Days events. His goal is to create a community calendar to be shared by community organizations, churches, and schools in the hopes of avoiding scheduling conflicts for events.
Foster, Buick, Conklin & Lundgren LLC: No report
City Clerk Ii called for Executive Session at the end of the meeting pursuant to 5 ILCS 120/2(c)(21) for the bi-annual review of closed session meeting minutes. No action will be taken resulting from the closed session.
City Treasurer: No report
Director of Public Works / City Engineer Horak announced that the Zoning Board of Appeals regular meeting of Tuesday, January 22, 2019 has been cancelled.
Chief Bianchi: No report
EMA: Absent
Alderwoman Chiemlewski: No report
Alderman Dell: No report
Alderman Kelleher expressed gratitude for the snow plowing efforts this past weekend. Mayor Olson added that several e-mails and phone calls were received from residents thanking the City.
Alderwoman Killey advised that the finance committee would meet immediately following this evening’s Council meeting.

Executive Session
Motion made by Alderman Dell and seconded by Alderman Robinson to go into executive session at 7:05 PM, pursuant to Section 2(c)(21) “Discussion of minutes of meetings lawfully closed under this Act, whether for purposes of approval by the body of the minutes or semiannual review of the minutes as mandated by Section 2.06”. Aye: Aldermen Chmielewski, Dell, Kelleher, Killey, McMahon, Robinson & Surratt Nay:0 Motion carried 7:0
Motion to return from Executive Session: Motion made by Alderman Dell and seconded by Alderman Robinson to return to regular session at 7:27 PM. Motion carried unanimously by voice vote.
Adjournment: There being no further business to come before the Council, motion made by Alderman Kelleher and seconded by Alderman Surratt to adjourn the Committee-of-theWhole Council meeting at 7:28 PM. Motion carried unanimously by voice vote.
