John Lange and his Wally’s Professional Services crew are doing all they can to keep playgrounds across the state free from the coronavirus.
The Sycamore-based residential and commercial cleaning company is busy donating a lot of its time to sanitizing local park and school playgrounds with their cleaning product that Lange reports the Center for Disease Control promotes as capable of killing the coronavirus.
"We've done a lot of research on the CDC's website and they recommend a certain bleach mixture to sterilize and combat against the virus and that's what we have been using," Lange told the Daily Chronicle.
"We're not as busy as we were, and we have the time, so for us it's an opportunity to give back to the community," Lange said, adding that he calls it, "random acts of cleaning kindness."
At least four parks so far have been sanitized and Lange and his company are vowing to keep safeguarding playgrounds as long as they feel there is a need.
"We're planning to continue to do this," he added. "And hopefully we can sanitize a lot of parks so they will be ready when kids can use them again."
DeKalb Park District Executive Director Amy Doll indicated that she appreciates the effort, as she also was certain to remind residents they still aren’t allowed on playground equipment until further notice.
"I appreciate the sentiment very much, that's generous," she said before pointing out, "the governor's executive order is still in place."
