Dekalb County Community Mental Health Board Executive Committee met April 7.

Committee Members Present: Jerald Helland, Jane Smith, Marilyn Stromborg Staff Present: Deanna Cada, Kathy Ostdick
Other Persons Present:
1. Call to Order
Mr. Helland called the meeting to order at 5:01 p.m.
2. Agenda
Dr. Stromborg moved to approve the agenda; seconded by Ms. Smith. The motion passed unanimously on a voice vote.
3. Approval of Minutes
Dr. Stromborg moved to approve the minutes of the 03/20/20 meeting; seconded by Ms. Smith. The motion passed unanimously on a voice vote.
4. Office Report
Ms. Cada reported that the items on her Office Report are all agenda items listed below.
5. Open Board Position process
Ms. Cada discussed a summary of the four candidates that had been interviewed. Dr. Stromborg and Ms. Smith interviewed all four candidates. Mr. Cook and Ms. Cook interviewed three candidates. The Executive Committee discussed the candidates and each Committee ranked them in order of acceptability.
The Committee will recommend two candidates to the full Board for further discussion.
6. Covid-19 Impacts
A. DCCMHB Office
Ms. Cada told the Committee that she and Ms. Ostdick are splitting their time at the office so they are not both there at the same time. When they are at the office at the same time, they are staying at least 6 feet apart and adhering to Covid-19 guidelines.
B. Funded Agencies
Ms. Cada has hosted several conference calls with the Mental Health Board funded Agencies. The agencies have each told Ms. Cada of the things that they are struggling With. Most agencies can’t get PPEs and need them. Open Door and Opportunity House Have said they are having a hard time with staff and have had to have staff move into the Group homes.
7. GY21 Grant Process
The GY21 grant process is moving along. Ms. Cada discussed a funding strategy with the Executive Committee.
8. Participation in DeKalb County COVID-19 Response Fund (DCCRF)
Ms. Cada informed the Executive Committee that she is working with a DeKalb County funders group in regards to Covid-19. The Funders Group will be working with the state to acquire state funds for DeKalb County that are earmarked for Covid-19.
9. Slate of Officers July 1, 2020 – June 30, 2021
The Committee discussed a slate of officers. The current officer slate will end 6/30/20.
10. One Year and Three Year Plan Goals
Ms. Cada reported that she has received the report from Dr. Courtney Hughes. This report is linked directly with the mapping of services in DeKalb County.
