Dekalb County Community Mental Health Board Executive Committee met May 5.

Committee Members Present: Jerald Helland, Jane Smith, Marilyn Stromborg Staff Present: Deanna Cada, Kathy Ostdick

1. Call to Order
Mr. Helland called the meeting to order at 5:00 p.m.
2. Agenda
Dr. Stromborg moved to approve the agenda; seconded by Ms. Smith. The motion passed unanimously on a voice vote.
3. Approval of Minutes
Ms. Smith moved to approve the minutes of the 04/7/20 meeting; seconded by Dr. Stromborg. The motion passed unanimously on a voice vote.
4. Office Report th
Ms. Cada reported that May 8 at noon she will be attending a county meeting regarding Covid-19 arranged by Mark Pietrowski and John Freiders.
Ms. Cada reported that she will be hosting a virtual town hall meeting on May 14th at 7:15 pm, along with Mark Pietrowski and Jeff Keicher.
5. Covid-19 Updates
Ms. Cada informed the Committee that she set up another Zoom meeting with Mental Health providers to discuss their current Covid-19 situation. On this call, the Family Service Agency reported that 75-80% of their clients are comfortable with telehealth. Safe Passage reported that they are seeing more strangulations.
Ms. Cada reported that agencies have told her that they are concerned about back to school in the fall. Ms. Cada is working with Amanda Christensen, Superintendent of Education, to address these issues.
Ms. Cada is concerned with healthcare workers having stress disorder in the near future.
6. Ad Hoc Funds Committee Development
Mr. Helland discussed future funds with the Committee. This will be brought to the full board for further discussion.
7. GY21 Grant Process.
The Committee discussed the GY21 grant applications and agreed to bring their suggestions to the full Board.
8. Slate of Officers July 1, 2020 – June 30, 2021
The Committee discussed a new slate of officers. The slate that will be presented to the full Board is Ms. Smith for President, Ms. Cook for Vice-President, and Dr. Stromborg for Secretary.
9. One Year and Three-Year Plan Goals
Ms. Smith commented on the Courtney Hughes report by saying that people are looking to schools for guidance on Covid-19 school openings and issues with family.
