DeKalb County Forest Preserve District Board met Feb. 15.

Here are the minutes provided by the board:

The DeKalb County Forest Preserve District Commissioners met in regular session at the Legislative Center’s Gathertorium on Wednesday, February 15, 2023 at 8:34 p.m. President Willis called the meeting to order, and the Secretary called the roll. Those present were District Commissioners Mary Cozad, Rukisha Crawford, Patrick Deutsch, Meryl Domina, Laurie Emmer, Vice-President John Frieders, Ben Haier, Rhonda Henke, Savannah Ilenikhena, Kathy Lampkins, Jim Luebke, Terri Mann-Lamb, Stewart Ogilvie, Jerry Osland, Michelle Pickett, Roy Plote, Chris Porterfield, Amber Quitno, Ellingsworth Webb, Tim Bagby, Scott Campbell, and President Suzanne Willis. Commissioner Maureen Little was absent. There was a quorum established with twenty-two Commissioners present, one absent, and one vacancy.

APPROVAL OF AGENDA

Motion

Mann-Lamb moved to approve the agenda as presented and Webb seconded the motion. Voice Vote

President Willis called for a voice vote to approve the agenda as presented. The motion carried unanimously.

APPROVAL OF MINUTES

Motion

Emmer moved to approve the minutes of the January 18, 2023 meeting. Cozad seconded the motion.

Voice Vote

President Willis asked for a voice vote on the approval of minutes. All Commissioners present voted aye. Motion carried unanimously.

PUBLIC COMMENTS

There were no public comments.

COMMUNICATIONS & PROCLAMATIONS

None.

STANDING COMMITTEE REPORTS

Claims - February 2023

Motion

Plote moved to approve the payment of claims for this month, and the off-cycle claims paid during the previous month, including all claims for travel, meals, and lodging, in the amount of $87,416.76. Deutsch seconded the motion.

Roll Call Vote

President Willis asked for a roll call vote on the motion to approve and payment of the District's February 2023 Claims. Those Commissioners voting aye were Cozad, Crawford, Deutsch, Domina, Emmer, Frieders, Haier, Ilenikhena, Lampkins, Luebke, Mann-Lamb, Ogilvie, Osland, Pickett, Plote, Porterfield, Quitno, Webb, Bagby, Campbell, and President Willis. The motion carried unanimously.

OLD BUSINESS / NEW BUSINESS

Forest Preserve Superintendent Terry Hannan briefly reported on another successfiil WinterFest that occurred on January 21,2023 at the Russell Woods Forest Preserve in Genoa. He also mentioned that there were good things to come from the Operations Committee to the full Board of Commissioners in the coming months.

ADJOURNMENT

Motion

Pickett moved to adjourn the meeting at 8:41 p.m. and Porterfield seconded the motion. Voice Vote

President Willis called for a voice vote on the adjournment. Motion carried unanimously.
