DeKalb County Forest Preserve District Board met Aug. 16.

Any member of the public may address the Forest Preserve District Board for up to 3 minutes on any topic of their choosing. There will be no yielding of time to other members of the public and agenda time for public comments is limited to 30 minutes in total.
6. Resolutions
a. Resolution FP-R2023-009—A Resolution Approving the Acquisition of Property in Kingston Township for the Genoa to Kingston Trail (G2K Trail).
Resolution FP-R2023-009 approves the acquisition of approximately 2.62 acres of land in Kingston Township from Michael Schelkopf to extend the Genoa to Kingston (G2K) trail corridor towards the Village of Kingston. The land acquisition extends the trail corridor section from Carroll Park in Genoa, heading west, past Hunter Road toward Kingston Elementary School. The total cost is $39,000.00 (just under $15,000.00 per acre).
Committee Action: The Forest Preserve Operations Committee considered Resolution FP R2023-009 on August 9, 2023 and forwarded the Resolution to the Forest Preserve District Board with a favorable recommendation by voice vote, with all votes cast in the affirmative.
b. Resolution FP-R2023-008—A Resolution Approving the Payment of Forest Preserve Claims for July 2023, and Off-Cycle Claims Paid During the Previous Month, Including All Claims for Travel, Meals, and Lodging, in the amount of $246,783.63.
c. Resolution FP-R2023-010—A Resolution Approving the Payment of Forest Preserve Claims for August 2023, and Off-Cycle Claims Paid During the Previous Month, Including All Claims for Travel, Meals, and Lodging, in the amount of $265,125.52.
7. Reports of Forest Preserve Officials: Move to accept and place on file the following Reports of Forest Preserve Officials.
