FOIA Request to Northern Illinois University Regarding Chinese National Students on May 14, 2025.

The request, made under the Illinois Freedom of Information Act, aims to gather data on several aspects related to these students.
The request specifically asks for documents or lists that identify all current students who are Chinese Nationals and their respective departments of study. In cases where student names are protected, a total count of such students broken down by department is requested instead.
Additionally, the request seeks information on scholarships awarded to Chinese National students. This includes details about each scholarship's amount and its source. Furthermore, it requests identification of any scholarship recipients associated with the Chinese Scholarship Council.
Another aspect of the inquiry involves university policies and procedures concerning the monitoring of students, including those who are Chinese Nationals, in order to protect the university's intellectual property and other confidential information.
