Village of Hinckley Committee of the Whole met April 28.

Here are the minutes provided by the committee:

CALL BOARD MEETING TO ORDER: Meeting was called to order by Interim Village President Quirk at 7:45 PM. Roll call was taken showing the following:

Present: Sarah Quirk, Brian Siwicki, Alyssa Prickett, Russell Kula, and Steve Gayhart. Quorum Established.

Absent: Mike Constant

Also Present: Attorney Lundgren, Village Clerk Joan Bennett, Treasurer Dave Maroo, Ceneca Wagner, Chief Gettemy, and Members of the Public.

PUBLIC COMMENT

None.

GENERAL BUSINESS

Approval: Committee of the Whole meeting minutes from April 14, 2025

Trustee Siwicki moved to approve the minutes from April 14, 2025, and Trustee Kula seconded the motion. Roll call vote: Quirk-Aye, Siwicki-Aye, Prickett-Aye, Kula-Aye, and Gayhart-Aye. Motion carried.

ENGINEER’S REPORT

COMMITTEE REPORTS

Personnel

No report other than to give “appreciation to the Village Hall staff and the Police Department for the help with the Open House” this past Saturday.

Public Safety

Chief Gettemy stated that he is looking into purchasing portable water barricades for the Village. The barricades weigh 50 lbs., filled they weigh 800 lbs. These could be used in outdoor events such as the upcoming Bourbon Tasting.

Chief Gettemy noted Operation Prom Night will be held Wednesday, April 30. The kids, police and fire departments all have been working hard on the event.

Buildings, Grounds & Parks

For discussion: Village Parking Lot Use

Trustee Kula noted that when semi-trucks use the Village Hall Parking Lot for turnaround, it will eventually cause damage to the parking lot. Chief Gettemy stated that he will talk to the drivers. Ceneca Wagner suggested possible road signs.

ADJOURNMENT

Trustee Quirk moved to adjourn the meeting at 7:53 PM, Trustee Gayhart motioned for adjournment and Trustee Quirk seconded the motion. Voice vote: All in favor. Motion carried. The next Committee of the Whole Meeting is scheduled for May 12th, 2025, immediately following the Regular Board Meeting.
