DeKalb County Rehab & Nursing Center Oversight Board met April 22.

Here are the minutes provided by the board:

A Regular meeting of the Members of the DeKalb County Rehab & Nursing Center Oversight Board (hereinafter “Oversight Board”) was held Tuesday, April 22, 2025, at 6:00 p.m. in the Multi-Purpose Room in DeKalb, Illinois pursuant to written notice to each Member as required by the By-Laws.

ROLL CALL

Chair Anna Wilhelmi called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m. and called the roll. Those Members present were Abdul El-Jamal, Mary Hatch, Dan Kenney, Kay Riley, and Frank Roberts. A quorum was established with five Members present, two absent and one vacancy. Rhonda Henke was absent at the time of the Roll call, having arrived at 6:02pm.

Others that were Nursing Home Administrator Bart Becker and Board Secretary Liam Sullivan

APPROVAL OF AGENDA

It was moved by Hatch to approve the agenda as presented, seconded by Riley and approved unanimously by voice vote.

APPROVAL OF THE MINUTES

It was moved by Riley and seconded by Kenney to approve the minutes of the March 25, 2025 Meeting of the DCRNC Oversight Board and approved unanimously by voice vote.

There were no public comments

CHAIR’S COMMENTS

Chair Wilhelmi took a moment to welcome Dan Kenney to the Oversight Board and asked him to introduce himself to the group.

PRESENTATIONS/DISCUSSIONS

DCRNC Administrator’s Report

Next, Becker noted that the DCRNC just underwent it’s annual survey from IDPH and it went well. Additionally, the Community Liaison has put in their resignation.

Discussion of DCRNC Accountant

Riley provided an overview of a draft business case that she is developing to show the value of having a CPA on staff in the DCRNC Business Office. The board provided feedback and asked that Riley meet with staff to discuss further before the next meeting.

Discussion of Goals/Strategies

Roberts and Riley asked that staff put together key performance indicators based on the 2025 goals that they shared at previous meetings. They asked that staff provide regular updates on the progress of reaching those goals.

ADJOURNMENT

A motion to adjourn was made by Roberts, seconded by Hatch, and approved by voice vote, with all votes cast in the affirmative.
