C. Approve And Authorize The Mayor To Execute An Intergovernmental Boundary Line Agreement Between The City Of Sycamore And The City Of Genoa

A Boundary Line Agreement establishes mutually agreed upon boundaries for growth between neighboring communities to prevent future disputes and guide future development. The City of Genoa and City of Sycamore previously entered into such an agreement in 2004; however, that agreement has since expired. While the line included in the agreement is somewhat jagged, the boundary line established between the two communities is from Aldrich Road, to Lloyd Road, to Story Road, down Moose Range Road, to the Canadian National Railroad. This boundary ensures that each community can grow in an orderly manner if they so choose while preserving each community’s unique character and identity. The proposed new agreement would set the boundary for a term of 20 years.
