The Police Department is currently working on becoming an accredited Police Department through the Illinois Law Enforcement Accreditation Program (ILEAP). ILEAP requires agencies to use PowerDMS to standardize the accreditation process, eliminate paper-based systems, improve efficiency, reduce costs, and ensure consistency across all accredited departments in Illinois. PowerDMS provides a centralized, user-friendly platform for managing accreditation standards, mapping policies to those standards, tracking compliance, and facilitating collaboration, which streamlines the accreditation journey and builds a culture of continuous compliance. Becoming accredited (and meeting the 69 standards set by ILEAP) reduces liability risk and therefore reduces costs of insuring the Department while also ensuring professional standards are met. The software will be an ongoing cost of $550 per year for the duration of the Police Department’s accreditation.
