Sandwich Community Unit School District 430 reported 105 suspensions for 2016-17, according to the latest student discipline report by the Illinois State Board of Education.
According to the report, the district expelled or suspended 105 students during the year. That equates to 5.1 percent of the 2,063 students enrolled.
Of the 77 in-school suspensions, including 33 elementary or middle schoolers and 44 high schoolers.
The district reported that most in-school suspensions were given for unspecified reasons. The category includes 77 incidents. For 67 incidents, students were suspended for a day or less.
The district reported that most out-of-school suspensions were given for unspecified reasons. The category includes 21 incidents. There were four incidents of alcohol. For 15 incidents, students were suspended for 3-5 days.
