State Senate race: Democrat Simpson wins voter tally in Afton Township Precinct 1

David Simpson led Republican Brian W. Stewart in votes cast in Afton Township Precinct 1 for the District 45 state Senate race, according to the latest vote count.

Simpson appeared to outpace Stewart by a margin of 7.1 percent on Tuesday in the precinct.
