Report: DeKalb spent $13,098 per student in 2017-18

Spending per pupil at DeKalb Community Unit School District 428 is up 7.7 percent from five years ago, according to a DeKalb Times analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2017-18 report card shows the Dekalb County school district spent $12,167 per pupil in 2013-14. It spent $13,098 in 2017-18.

The district saw its enrollment rise over the same period, from 6245 to 6598.

DeKalb's spending in 2017-18 was 1.8 percent lower than the state average of $13,337.
