DeKalb home prices fall in the first quarter of 2017

The median sale price of a home sold in the first quarter of 2017 in DeKalb fell by $7,434.66 while total sales decreased by 46.7%, according to BlockShopper.com.

From January through March of 2017, there were 16 homes sold, with a median sale price of $75,912.56 - a 8.9% decrease over the $83,347.22 median sale price for the same period of the previous year. There were 30 homes sold in DeKalb in the first quarter of 2016.

The median sales tax in DeKalb for 2017 was $4,770.90. In 2016, the median sales tax was $4,697.90. This marks an increase of 1.6%. The effective property tax rate, using the median property tax and median home sale price as the basis, is 6.3%.
