Dekalb High School issued the following announcement on Mar. 17.
Miss Hefty's Regular and Advanced Food Science classes tested various types of oil to determine how the different lipids cooked homemade french fries through deep frying. Teams had to watch their oil temperature to prepare crunchy yet cooked french fries based on the oil type: sunflower, vegetable, and corn oils. Student lab reports focused on the experimental process and safety.
Results varied on preferred oil types. What oil do you prefer to deep fry food in?
